FreeDVDBoot is an exploit by CTurt that utilizes a flaw in the PS2's DVD player, meaning that you only need to burn a DVD (not CD) to use it. It works on unmodified consoles, but not every model is supported.

Once your console has started from a FreeDVDBoot disc, it automatically launches uLaunchELF. From there, you can install a more permanent exploit like PS2BBL, FMCB, OpenTuna, etc.

Supported Versions

FreeDVDBoot works on all Slim consoles, but not all Fat consoles are supported. Check out the detailed list on the PS2 Developer Wiki. If your console's DVD player version is not supported, you can take a look at YetAnotherDvdExploit/YADE instead.
