What clock speed should I set my PSP? There’s no universal number, Each PSP got it’s own limits regardless of model number, motherboard revision, etc. The recommended method to find out is to incrementally. So:333—->383–>403 and so on, until you find your PSP hard spot After setting a very high clock speed all my games crash; what can I do?

  • Go back to your Custom Firmware settings and lower the clock speed to whatever it was when it was working, with some games it may be a issue with the “Use Extra Memory” Option causing them to crash rather than the overclock

Does overclocking the XMB improve anything?

  • No, not really. It may improve loading times for some menus and the media player, but that is about it.

I set a very high XMB clock speed and now my PSP isn’t booting, what can I do??

  • Press SELECT while booting; this will bypass loading ARK settings preferences while still loading CFW itself, so you’ll still be able to change settings
