Diablo fans have a brand new way to explore Sanctuary. The newly released D2R-3D mod introduces free camera control to Diablo 2: Resurrected, allowing players to break away from the classic isometric view and experience the action up close.

Once activated by pressing F12, the mod lets you use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out, and the middle mouse button to drag and adjust your viewing angle. This unlocked camera reveals environmental details, lighting effects, room structures, and monster designs that are easily missed from the standard top-down perspective. Whether you want an immersive first-person view, a classic third-person angle, or a slightly elevated camera reminiscent of World of Warcraft, D2R-3D gives you total control.

The mod is available in two formats: a plugin edition and a standalone version (which includes EXE and DLL files that drop directly into the game's installation folder).

Players should be aware that the project is still highly experimental. The standalone version currently triggers the game's integrity checks, which can cause crashes after about a minute of gameplay. Until these issues are smoothed out, it should be treated as a work in progress rather than a seamless playthrough tool.

While D2R-3D offers a fascinating look at a fully 3D Diablo 2, a similar mod from creator 4Spartah is also in development. Early previews suggest 4Spartah's version might offer a superior experience, and a playable demo is expected to drop soon.
