Spider-Man: Edge of Time Gets Unofficial PC Port

Over a decade after its 2011 release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii, Spider-Man: Edge of Time is finally playable natively on PC thanks to a new unofficial port.

Here is a breakdown of what the game and this new PC version have to offer:

Dual-Timeline Gameplay Edge of Time is a linear, third-person action game where you play as two distinct heroes: Peter Parker and Spider-Man 2099. The core hook is their linked timelines—actions Peter takes in the past dynamically alter the environment and events in Spider-Man 2099’s future.

Combat and Unique Powers Both Spider-Men share a foundation of melee attacks, aerial juggles, and web-based combos, with upgradeable skills for crowd control. However, their special abilities differ:

  1. Peter Parker: Uses Spider-Sense and high-speed Hyper-Sense to effortlessly evade danger.
  2. Spider-Man 2099: Deploys fast-moving decoys to distract and misdirect enemies.
  3. Shared Abilities: Both heroes can utilize time-manipulation powers to temporarily slow or freeze foes.

Traversal and Level Design Unlike open-world Spider-Man titles, Edge of Time focuses on a much more linear, guided experience. You will still wall-crawl, swing, and use web zips, but exploration is largely confined to narrow corridors, rooms, and industrial complexes. The game breaks up the combat with light puzzle-platforming sections and boss fights that require you to memorize attack patterns and strategically use your time-bending mechanics.

New PC Features This fan-made release includes several excellent modern features:

  1. Native Keyboard & Mouse Support: Includes proper on-screen prompts and fully rebindable keys, offering a great alternative to controller gameplay.
  2. Experimental DLSS 5: The port's creator, GenryTheFox, included an optional DLSS 5 mod for users with high-end NVIDIA RTX graphics cards to push visual performance even further.

How to Play Like most unofficial decompilation projects, the download strictly provides the engine port and does not include copyrighted game assets. To play it, you will need to legally source and provide your own ROM or ISO of the original game.
