The Atari 7800 had an official light gun shared between it, the Atari 2600, and Atari 8-bit computers called the Atari XG-1. The light guns will only work with CRT TVs, not LCD or OLED screens. In North America, the XG-1 was only bundled with the Atari XE Video Game System and was not sold separately. Atari had plans to release the XG-1 by itself in an orange color scheme, but this never happened and it was only sold separately in Europe in its original XE gray color.

Controller Adapters
Some adapters, such as the Mega 7800 adapter allow you to use Sega Master System or Sega Genesis controllers on the 7800. This also applies to the Master System's light gun, the Sega Light Phaser, and allows you to use that light gun on the Atari 7800. It is also possible to rewire a Light Phaser specifically for use on Atari systems, a modification which was first detailed in 1988[1] due to the XG-1's inaccuracy compared to the Light Phaser.
