The Dreamcast is not capable of outputting true widescreen resolutions, as the highest it can display is 640x480 pixels. Therefore, all "widescreen" options on Dreamcast games are anamorphic widescreen, where a 16:9 image is squished into a 4:3 frame. The TV then can stretch the image to fill the full 16:9 screen.

Widescreen Codes and Patches
There are many community-made widescreen patches available. The site retro-magic.de contained many codes available in both hex and codebreaker formats, which are also available via the "Retroarch Widescreen-Cheats for Reicast v1.zip" archive, but they have since been made available as an installable CodeBreaker save file.
For more information on installing codes via a save file, see Wobbling Pixels' video (file mirrors: WidesceenCodes, AllCodes).
