There are many different video cables available for the various models of Genesis consoles.

Genesis Model 1 Cables

RGB (SCART)

The Genesis model 1 outputs Mono audio through the rear full-size DIN 8 262° AV port, Stereo audio is only available through the 3.5 mm (1/8") headphone jack located at the front. The cables listed below have a 3.5 mm headphone cable that routes stereo audio through the SCART connector.

Genesis Model 2 Cables

The Sega Genesis Model 2 features a Mini-DIN 9 port which carries Composite Video (CVBS), RGB, CSync, 5V and Stereo audio. S-Video and YPbPr Component signals are not available. Any model Genesis that uses the Genesis Model 2 Mini-DIN 9 port (such as CDX, Genesis 3, 32X, etc.) may use a Genesis Model 2 cable. The Genesis 3 outputs Mono audio as standard on the Left channel only.

RGB (SCART)

Cables specific to the Genesis 3 and CDX are available which rotate the connector to account for the side mounted port for easier cable routing. Custom Genesis 3 cables may be wired for two channel Mono audio or Stereo audio for modified consoles.
