Below are some cables available for purchase for different video output methods. There is virtually no difference between RGB and YPbPr signals except the desired connector type.

RF, Composite, S-Video, AV Multi-In, HDMI

Same as the PlayStation.

RGB SCART

Except on the Japanese-launch-exclusive DVD Player 1.0 and third party hacks, RGB mode is artificially incompatible with DVD-Video playing software.

It should be noted that any RGBS cables intended for usage on the PS2 should not be used on a PS1, as they will be missing the necessary AC coupling capacitors.

When set to RGB mode, Progressive Scan (480p) signals use Sync on Green or RGsB, this is an uncommon format that is not in the SCART specification and therefore not supported by many devices such as the RetroTINK-5X Pro. Refer to PS2 Video Outputs for more information.

Component YPbPr

HD15 (DE15 D-Sub)

When set to RGB mode, Progressive Scan (480p) signals use Sync on Green or RGsB, this may not be supported by all devices. HD15 devices typically expect RGBS with TTL CSync or RGBHV (VGA). Refer to PS2 Video Outputs for more information.

HDMI

There are many generic PlayStation multi-out to HDMI adapters available, but they tend to be poorly made and vary wildly in video quality. The only HDMI adapters that can be guaranteed to be good quality are the ones made by ElectronShepard or RetroTink.
