Your IDPS is the ID that PSN uses to uniquely identify your console. You may want to back up your IDPS in case you ever swap it for another one or want to use it on another console. Your ACT.DAT file is your console activation data tied to your account.

Requirements

  • FAT32 formatted USB storage device
  • A PS3 with either 4.80/4.81/4.82 official firmware, 4.83 or newer CFW/HFW, or DEX 4.84 CFW/OFW.
  • (Optional) PS3HEN or CFW installed on your PS3
    • This is required if you want to back up the RIF licenses and act.dat, but optional if you just want the console's IDPS.
  • A PSN account that contains the licenses you want to dump

IDPS Dumping Methods

ps3xploit.me

  1. Sign into the profile you want to use, then sign in to the PSN account you want to use with the console.
  2. Navigate to the PSN column and select Account Management.
  3. Scroll down and select System Activation > PS3 System > Game. After it has been activated successfully, power off your system.
  4. Turn on your system and sign back into your PSN account.
  5. Plug your FAT32 formatted USB device into the right-most USB port (the one closest to the disc drive).
  6. Navigate to the Network tab and go into the internet browser. Press START and enter the URL ps3xploit.me, followed by pressing START again.
  7. Hover over "v3 HAN Tools" and click on "ACT/IDPS dumper" in the sub-menu.
  8. Set the dumper as your homepage by pressing Triangle followed by Tools > Home page > Use current. When done, close the browser.
  9. Re-open the browser and click on Initialize ACT/IDPS Dumper. After it has initialized, select Dump ACT.DAT & IDPS. If it didn't initialize successfully, redo the step, ensuring you have the homepage set on the dumper.

ps3toolset.com

  1. Plug a USB drive into the right-most USB port, ensuring your USB is formatted as FAT32 MBR, and that it is recognized by the PS3 by checking that it shows up on the XMB under the Photos column.
  2. Navigate to the Network column of the XMB and select "Internet Browser".
  3. Press Triangle, select Tools → Delete Cookies.
  4. Press Triangle, select Tools → Delete Search History.
  5. Press Triangle, select Tools → Delete Cache.
  6. Press Triangle, select Tools → Delete Authentication Information.
  7. Press Circle to close the browser, then open it again.
  8. Press Start and enter ps3toolset.com. If prompted to run a plugin, select "Yes". Press the "OK" button on the maintenance costs popup.
  9. Press Triangle, select Tools → Home Page. Select "Use Current" and press Cross. Scroll down to OK and press Cross to exit this menu.
  10. Select "System Manager", and click the field that lists the console's IDPS. It will be censored with X's default.
  11. Click Save IDPS as file, and click the USB drive. Then, click Save on the bottom right of the pop-up. The idps.bin file will now be saved to the root of the USB drive.
