| It is currently unknown if connecting to Xbox Live after Peer Pressure is installed can result in a ban (even in retail mode). Tread carefully! |
Peer Pressure is a fully persistent softmod by Grimdoomer. Unlike the original Bad Update, it's immediately activated right after pressing the power button (whereas Bad Update could only be executed after the dashboard has been fully booted into), and has a persistent installation on both a SATA hard drive & the desired console's system flash.
Features
The softmod is functionally equal to an RGH, as it allows a console to execute unsigned code and run Homebrew.
Peer Pressure features an automatic installer with the ability to customise the install with extras (e.g. Aurora). Additionally, the softmod has an Auto-Update feature.
Post install, the console can boot into three separate modes.
- Modded state (Power Button; Default)
- Safe mode (Hold Sync and press Eject; Ignores Configuration)
- Retail (Hold Sync and press Power; Console will boot into an unmodified state.)
- Booting XeLL via the Eject Button can be configured in the Configuration App
The mod is not compatible with DashLaunch or DashLaunch Plugins (like Stealth Servers, UI Mods, etc...), though it allows to load .DLLs "anytime a specific game is launched". Most DashLaunch patches were carried over with some improvements, so it is not necessary. A trainer system was announced.
Support
Peer Pressure supports 2.0.17599 only. All revisions – except those with the KSB are supported. This is due to hardware level changes. Bad Update combined with ABadAvatar remains a viable, software-only alternative for unsupported systems.
