EA Promises Fix for FC 27 Glitch Showing Female Characters in Underwear

EA Sports has acknowledged an asset-loading glitch in EA FC 27 that causes female players and managers to appear in default underwear during cut-scenes.

Electronic Arts (EA) has addressed a bizarre glitch in its newly released football simulator, EA Sports FC 27, where female players and managers inexplicably appear in just their black underwear during certain cut-scenes and goal celebrations.

Released worldwide on September 25, players who pre-ordered for early access quickly spotted the wardrobe malfunction on the pitch and in the locker rooms. According to an EA spokesperson, the issue stems from a rare asset-loading error. The developer explained that all base character models are equipped with "default undergarments as a standard technical failsafe" to ensure appropriate coverage if their intended kits fail to render correctly.

EA referred to it as an "isolated issue" affecting outfits during match cinematics and confirmed that the development team has identified the root cause. The glitch will be fully resolved in an upcoming Title Update.

EA Sports FC 27 is the fourth installment since the mega-franchise rebranded from its famous FIFA moniker. While complete global sales data isn't fully available yet, the title has already claimed the top spot for PlayStation 5 sales in the U.S. and overall game sales in the U.K. during its debut week.
