Path of Exile 2 Stuttering? Try These Game-Changing Fixes Now!

Path of Exile 2 is an exciting game, but like many new releases, it can come with its share of technical issues. If you're experiencing stuttering or choppy gameplay, don't worry! There are several steps you can take to improve performance and enjoy a smoother experience.

Step-By-Step Guide to Fix Stuttering Issues in Path Of Exile 2

Update Your Drivers and Operating System: Outdated drivers can cause stuttering issues. Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date by visiting the official website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and downloading the latest drivers Additionally, ensure your Windows operating system is fully updated.

Verify Game Files: Corrupt or missing game files can lead to performance issues. If you're playing on Steam, right-click on Path of Exile 2 in your library, select "Properties," go to the "Installed Files" tab, and click "Verify integrity of the game files." Steam will check and repair any corrupt or missing files.

Lower Graphics Settings: High graphics settings can strain your system. Try lowering settings such as shadow quality, sun quality, and water detail levels. This can help improve stability and reduce stuttering.

Check for Overheating: Overheating can cause performance issues. Use monitoring tools like HWiNFO to check component temperatures and ensure your PC is well-ventilated. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning PC components and replacing thermal paste, can help improve system stability.

Close Background Applications: Running multiple applications simultaneously can impact performance. Close any unnecessary programs before launching Path of Exile 2 to free up system resources.

Reset In-Game Settings: Sometimes, resetting your in-game settings to default can resolve performance issues. Go to the settings menu in Path of Exile 2 and reset all options to default before launching the game again.

By following these steps, you can address stuttering issues in Path of Exile 2 and enjoy a smoother gaming experience. If problems persist, consider reaching out to the game's support team for further assistance.

Network Issues?

The stuttering is caused by lockstep network mode and moderately high ping (above 60), the game gets out of sync and fails to resync properly and causes horrid stuttering. This can be disabled in POE1 but POE2 does not allow for predictive network mode. The only way to fix it is to restart the entire client and resync.

Nothing you can do about it (even tried edting the settings file manually to force adaptive mode, doesnt work)
