The PVM-3200 is an 81.7 cm (32") color television manufactured by Sony. Released to Japan in February 1977, it was the largest color CRT television in the world at the time. It retailed for ¥998,000.[1]
Later on in 1981, Sony of America released the CVM-3000 to the US market, it has a nearly identical appearance to the PVM-3200 but photos of the TV show that it has a rearranged front panel layout.
Based on television naming schemes in both the US and JP markets, it is speculated that the CVM-3000 and PVM-3200 share the same tube.
Interestingly the PVM-3200 uses the "PVM" prefix as throughout the 1970s Sony typically sold high-end monitors, which were intended for commercial use, with the "CVM" and "CKV" prefixes. It is unknown if "PVM" had a different meaning at this time.
