Ultra 64 Dev Board

The Ultra 64 Devkit was an official peripheral used by early Nintendo 64 developers to compile, program and test games for the Nintendo 64.

Required Hardware

The Ultra64 is essentially a Nintendo 64 on a board that fits inside an SGI Indy. It connects over the GIO32 bus in concert with the Ultra64 dev kit to provide video output. Due to limitations, it cannot be used with an XZ graphics board (The XZ board is double height, taking up all GIO slots). It has a controller board for connecting controllers attached to it. An SGI Indy running IRIX 5.3 to 6.2 is required as the host system. [1]

Software Components

IRIS Development Option[2] 5.x and 6.x are the primary compilers used. IDO 7.1 was used for very late N64 games additionally. [3]
