Transferring games
Using FTP
FTP is a extremely outdated protocol and therefore is prone to failing mid transfer, Other than being limited to around 10Mb/s due to the PS3 having a outdated wifi chip
- Get your console connected to FTP using this guide.
- Depending on your game format there’s different locations you’d want to move your games onto:
- For ISO games:

/dev_hdd0/GAMES/ - For PKG games:
/dev_hdd0/packages/and .rap files go in:/dev_hdd0/exdata/

Using USB
This section will only cover FAT32 formatted drives. For NTFS drives, there is a separate process.
Due to a limitation in how FAT32 works, You cannot copy files over 4GB to it without splitting them. To do that for PS3, there is a guide dedicated for that.
- There’s multiple locations you’d need to place your games at depending on their format:
- ISO games: In a folder called
/PS3ISO/ - JB folder games: Simply copy the folder into your USB stick, Make sure that you copied the whole game and not just the
/PS3_GAME/otherwise it’ll not work - PKG games: Copy over to a new folder called
/packages/and .rap files over to/exdata/
- ISO games: In a folder called

You can burn a PS1, PS2, or PS3 ISO to a CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc and play it on a CFW PS3 by inserting the disc and launching it from the XMB. If your CFW does not have Cobra, you can mount it with the latest version of WebMAN. If you do not have Webman, you can launch it using the application DiscBOOT.
- Ensure that when you burn the disc, you include the PS3_GAME folder and the PS3_DISC.SFB file.
