YouTube still works on the Xbox 360, both on retail and RGH/JTAG Consoles.

An Xbox Live account and an active internet connection are required. If you are using Xbox Live, a stealth server is highly recommended on an RGH/JTAG console.

Installation

If you had previously used YouTube on the Xbox 360 with your Xbox Live account, go to the Settings tab in the Microsoft Dashboard > Account > Purchase History and redownload the app from there.

If you haven't, download this as well as the Optional Media Update and use one of these methods:

RGH/JTAG

  1. Download the files and unzip the '423607D3' and 'FFFE07DF' folders.
  2. Copy the Folders to 'HDD/Content/0000000000000000'
  3. Enable the Title Update (if it is not already enabled).
  4. Launch the App from the Dashboard of your choice.

Retail

  1. Get a USB formatted to FAT32
  2. On the root of the USB, create a folder named 'Content', inside create the folder '0000000000000000' (16 zeroes).
  3. Copy the '423607D3' and 'FFFE07DF' folders to '0000000000000000'.
  4. Plug the USB into your Xbox.
  5. Go to Settings tab > System > Storage Settings.
  6. Choose your USB.
  7. Choose 'Games and Apps'.
  8. Click on YouTube and the Media Update (if possible) and copy them to your Storage.
  9. Return to your Dashboard, go to Apps and launch YouTube.
