GlitchMod Launches Its New Wiki With 4,655 Guides Across 84 Platforms

What began as a new project has reached a major milestone: GlitchMod has completed the initial build of its console modding wiki, bringing thousands of guides and hardware references together in one searchable destination.

We recently started building a dedicated home for console knowledge on GlitchMod. That initial build is now complete, and the GlitchMod Wiki is live with 4,655 guides across 84 platforms.

The library covers console modding, repairs, homebrew, backups, and hardware reference material. For players, collectors, and hardware enthusiasts, it offers a starting point for exploring what their systems can do—and understanding how to keep them working.

From classic consoles to modern handhelds

The wiki spans Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, and Atari systems, alongside other consoles, handhelds, retro PCs, and audio and video hardware.

Readers can browse platforms including the original Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, GameCube, Wii, Dreamcast, and Genesis / Mega Drive. The directory also includes devices such as the Game Boy, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, Steam Deck, Analogue Pocket, and Playdate.

That breadth brings different generations of gaming hardware into the same library. Whether someone is revisiting a childhood console or researching a newer handheld, they can begin with the platform they own.

Find your console, then find your next project

The wiki offers two ways to get started: choose a platform or search for a task.

Visitors can search by console, tool, or the work they want to complete. A platform-name filter and platform groups help narrow the directory, while shortcuts for homebrew, repair, and backups provide quick routes into popular topics. A recently updated section highlights revised entries.

Together, these features give readers a practical way to move from a specific question to relevant information.

More than modification guides

The library also reaches into preservation, troubleshooting, setup, and development.

For example, the Game Boy Color save backups and homebrew development guide covers preserving cartridge save data, creating a restorable archive, and choosing a development target. It links to original tool documentation, giving readers a route to further detail.

Its layout includes a table of contents, related categories, a print option, and a discussion area where signed-in readers can ask questions, suggest corrections, or share their results.

A new milestone for GlitchMod

Completing the initial wiki build gives GlitchMod a dedicated reference library alongside its existing gaming content. It brings console knowledge into a format readers can browse by hardware, search by task, and return to when a new project begins.

We’re excited to share this milestone with the community. Whether you’re exploring homebrew, researching a repair, preserving a save, or learning about a console you already own, there’s a new place to start.
