Tutorials & referencePlayStation 5 modding, repairs and homebrew
This directory covers the original PS5, compact PS5 models and PS5 Pro. Start by recording the CFI model number and installed system software. Official storage upgrades, controller maintenance and cosmetic changes are useful on stock consoles; homebrew and exploit tools have separate firmware and hardware requirements.
New to PS5 modding? Read Getting started, make a backup plan, then consult the firmware compatibility reference. An entry point, kernel exploit, loader and homebrew payload are different parts of a chain. A version number in one project does not establish support for every other project.
Source review: October 10, 2026. Each guide cites its technical sources. Firmware support and online requirements can change; read the linked project release notes before running a tool. Recovery options can erase data or install newer firmware, so understand their effects before using them.
